Regrowth for ANUSA, the grassroots independent (grindie), has announced its intentions to run in the 2025 ANUSA elections. Announced candidates include Lea Fallen for Education Officer, Juen Song Lee for Environment Officer, Olivia Bradshaw for Undergraduate CASS Representative, Nick Barr and Luka Knight for General Representative, and Anita Fu for postgraduate representative on the ANU Council.
Regrowth has stated no intention to run a candidate for the Treasurer and General Secretary positions.
Regrowth promises to stand against the cuts brought by Renew ANU and residential committee changes, and to fight for Palestinians and for the divestment of the ANU from arms manufacturing. Regrowth’s last main focus is on environmentalism, promising to hold the ANU accountable to its goal of being net-zero by the end of 2025.
Regrowth promises to “build up again from the damage that has been caused; growth is our platform priority.” The ticket plans to implement regular town halls for students to contribute, and make ANUSA “a transparent, accessible union”.
As the grassroots independents ticket, Regrowth states that they are unaffiliated and thus have “no party line” they must follow. They promise that they will be committed “to the student body and your needs.”
More candidates and further policy announcements are still to come.
